in US history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.
Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The US soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.
All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.

It won't happen on Obama's watch, it takes years for death sentences to be executed. There are currently 5 on military death row - one of whom has been there for 25 years.
The last person executed by the US military was executed in 1961.
Respect for ourselves demands that we follow through with the process the law has laid out.
In this case, because he received the death penalty, there will be a mandatory appeal filed. Even though Hassan doesn't want an appeal, the death penalty mandates a review of the case. It will likely be a number of years before the order for execution appears on the President's desk, and in this case, since there is no doubt whatsoever that Hassan planned and did commit this horrible crime, the order will likely be signed.
Good -maybe his chronic bedsores will get the best of him by then.
Seems as if the Op does not know people can be sentenced to death for multiple murders while in the military. The President will not commute his sentence, sounds like somone is bored and just speculating what if's that are not even remotely gonna happen, that is what too much time on your hands will do.
There's a good chance that Hasan will receive the military death penalty for his murderous rampage at Fort Hood. Since this administration has refused to classify this as a terrorist act,...and given the fact that Obama has to sign off on a military death penalty verdict,...how likely is it that Obama might commute the sentence to life without parole. Obama has nothing to lose since he is in his final years as POTUS.
Is there a down side for Obama if he chooses to commute the sentence?
Classifying the Ft Hood incident as terrorist is irrelevant.
The President has to sign off on the execution order, AFTER the appeals process has been resolved, so it's unlikely that Obama will ever see that order.
Obama is the nominal head of the Democratic Party (all Presidents are the nominal heads of their respective political parties), and as such he has ample reason to avoid such an unpopular move.
You shouldn't put down others in terms of intelligence when your own post shows a lack of research and thought.
