U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton referred to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad as a “reformer” this weekend, despite Assad’s atrocious human rights record and the regime’s violent crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators, which has resulted in over 60 deaths in the past week alone. According to Clinton:
”There is a different leader in Syria now, many of the members of Congress of both parties who have gone to Syria in recent months have said they believe he’s a reformer,” she said.
Unlike Libya, Clinton said the U.S. would not intervene militarily to stop the Syrian regime’s murderous repression of its own people. Commentary’s Alana Goodman said Assad can rest easy now, knowing he can gun down peaceful protesters with impunity.

The best SoS we have ever had???? Bwahahahahahahahaha. More like the WORST! Unbelievable, so she says he's a reformer just 2 years ago? What a douche she is.

She is commenting on what other members of Congress has said when meeting the leader of Syria, though it is tough to say what context it was made in or what she said before or after that which lead to the comment of informer.

or we can just go off the soundbite because that is all that probably matters to media spin.

Back Assad.

Terrorists controlling the rebels.

Easier to deal with a dictator than religious fanatics.

Excuses excuses. She would NOT have said any of that if SHE didn't believe it also. You guys protect the most vile of our population.

So you are admitting that Hillary was SOS in name only and just "mailed in" her reports? This is the same Hillary who declared on the Senate floor to authorize the use of force in Iraq because of WMDs and never did an independent analysis of the evidence before opening her yap. She can't have it both ways.

You know, you just completely changed my mind with this comment. She said the embassy attack was caused by a video, when she KNEW it wasn't.

Many anti-choice people are for shutting down all abortion clinics.

Now because I said that sentence without following it up or having what I said afterwards documented, does that mean I support closing down all abortion clinics? No.

Interesting, where did I admit that? Also, I don't recall Hillary being the head of the Senate in 2003. Also, why would she need to do an independent analysis if the heads of our security and intelligence departments were saying Iraq had WMDs? It isn't Hillary's fault the Republicans lead us into war on a bag of lies that many believed to be true.
