The definition of marriage is very wishy washy. Marriage has changed and evolved so much throughout history, one single definition cannot be agreed on. Not to mention, "twerk" was just added to the English dictionary, so if you really want to look at it that way, times change. Definitions need tweaked (tweak while we twerk?) for clarity over time as times change.

Marriage is not a heterosexual only institution. Try again.

Societal attitudes have changed significantly according to the latest polls. So...essentially you're saying, gay marriage should be legalized 100% country wide since the majority now supports same-sex marriage?
I agree things change and should be updated, however, its not about rights or justice but rather about public opinion.

Society wasn't going to change. WE had to change it.
And you think marching down the street in spandex is going to change it? It will change it all right but in the opposite direction in which you want it to go.

We should tell all those gay people in same-sex marriage states that their parades had the opposite effect. Gay marriage really isn't legal. It's just a mirage. I heard so on the internet.

And public opinion says that now more than 50% of people believe same-sex marriage should be legal. So are you ready to go ahead with it?

I assure you that the parades did nothing for anyone on the fence, outside of repulsing them.

50% is a pretty divisive number.

How so? We've had legal SSM here for a long time now, and we still have Pride parades. They're fun. The entire city shows up. The floats are funded by politicians, banks, major chains, churches and synagogues, unions, everyone. Even children had their own float.
Nobody is turning away in disgust. Nobody says "Well, enough of that". People come to party and have a good time.

Sure, freak shows can be fun, but it's no way to get accepted into mainstream society. You will always be seen as those sex-crazed freaks who we throw money at twice a year to amuse us. Completely degrading to normal gay people.

Nice job on moving the goalposts. It's more than 50%. You know, a "majority."

So now you speak for gay people?

It's completely degrading to normal people in general, more so to gay people being its their sexuality that is being paraded so vulgarly as if this is what it looks like to be gay.

Ever been to a Mardi Gras Parade? Ever been on Spring Break? Perhaps you should try to get them banned. All that vulgar sexual identity on display! This is what it looks like to be straight?

If it's so degrading and vulgar, why do you go to the parades?
