The claim by the victim does not qualify as fact.

In fact, any claim not thoroughly and completely investigated and proven is by definition not a fact.

You are stating opinions based on claims made by one half of the parties involved...

That the Earth is round was indeed a fact even before it was investigated and proven.

But the claim that it was was merely a hypothesis. Until it was proven.

You are not speaking facts. At best you are hypothesizing.

No wonder we have the highest incarceration rates in the world.

Indeed it is. We are slowly becoming a police state....the very thing that we fought against.

We have far more rights and constitutional protections today than we did at the beginning of our country, and certainly more than we had 60 years ago.

Yesterday, I accidentally choked and almost passed out while eating. My 14 year old was able to intervene and help me, but he was scared (so was I) and had 911 on the phone when I went down. We cancelled the ambulance request because I was breathing, and not choking on food. They sent a deputy over to check on us.
We told him what happened and how scary it was. He was very empathetic and told my son he did the right thing.
It is good to know that with all the whiners on this forum complaining about the police in this great nation, the truth remains that most of the public servants are concerned and professional individuals. They do their work out of a desire to keep peace and make sure everyone is ok. I suspect the people on this forum who complain loudest about police are the ones who drive 50 through school zones and then cry when they get a ticket for it. Or drink a 6 pack at the bar before driving home and then wonder why the cops singled them out for a trip downtown.

The vast majority do a good job but it is not whining to point out the times they do not.
