Gresham bakery that denied same-sex wedding cake closes | kgw.com Portland

Quote:
GRESHAM, Ore. – A Gresham bakery that refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, prompting a state investigation, shut its doors.

On Sunday, KGW stopped by Sweet Cakes by Melissa and found the bakery completely empty. All counter tops, display cases and decorations were gone.
Apparently, they will be operating the bakery out of their home.

Does anyone know if the same anti-discrimination laws apply to someone working out of their home?

Looks like the people have spoken with their wallets, I am sure the Cons on here will have respect for that. It was definitely a stupid business move on their part to try an cut out a large market.

They should have known tolerance is a one-way street.

Isn't there something in the bible about tattoos being a no-no?

If I remember correctly, the husband end of the bakery (who did most of the interviews) had tattoos.

Which tells me they are pretty selective about what parts of the bible they choose to follow.

So liberals should patronize a business that is blatantly disregarding the law, and being discriminatory. Maybe if more conservatives showed up the shop would still be open.

They moved to an in-home bakery.
No they will not be under the same laws because of that.

Good for them.

I believe they also agreed to do a divorce party cake, and agreed to do a Pagan solstice cake.

Ahhh.....

You mean like the cons who come here to gloat when they find out that a business such as J.C. Penney's, which uses an openly lesbian woman as one of their spokespeople, is struggling? And they think they can attribute those business losses to be a direct result of that company promoting a "gay agenda" (whatever the hell that is).

Hypocrite.
