It was micro. It was the first couple of lessons. The first topics of micro sometimes overlap with macro principles.

This is the way I see it. Norway and Sweden have socialist leanings. Norway's unemployment rate is lower than the USA's. Sweden's unemployment rate is around 7.3%. The USA isn't nearly as socialist as Sweden, and the USA is only now starting to get down to Sweden's unemployment rate.

If Sweden and Norway can have socialism without going crazy, then a better question is this. Was it socialism, or the way it was implemented?

That was a rhetorical rant. I know you have no valid study or poll to proves your 60% claim.

Socialism More Popular Than Capitalism Among Youth and African Americans

Quote:
Despite near universal demonization of socialist ideas in the corporate media and political establishment, according to a new Pew Research Center Poll half of young people aged 18-29 view socialism positively while only 43 percent react negatively to the term. In the same age group, only 46 percent have positive views of capitalism, while 47 percent view capitalism negatively.

While these numbers remain close, its notable that just 20 months ago, last time Pew asked the same questions, the numbers were reversed. At that time, according to Pew’s findings, a slim majority of young people, 49 to 43 percent, viewed socialism negatively.
Undoubtedly the impact of Occupy Wall Street on consciousness is an important factor. In a matter of weeks, the occupy movement brought opposition to capitalism from the margins into the mainstream. With that has come growing interest and demand for a real political alternative to this system.
Pew breaks their findings down by race, income, age, and political affiliation. Notably African Americans view socialism most favorably, at 55 to 36 percent. While over all the U.S. population - particularly those over 30 - still has a negative view of socialism (60 to 31 percent, a 19 point spread), among the lowest income bracket (less than $30,000) positive and negative views are almost even at 43 to 46 percent. Meanwhile, half of the poorest Americans view capitalism negatively, while just 39 percent support capitalism.

You post statistics. However, do you ever consider what is behind those supporting socialism?

Even better, why has socialist policies more successful in Sweden and Norway?

They're not successful there either.

They have lower crime rates than the USA. Norway's unemployment rate is lower than ours. Sweden's unemployment is similar to ours, but for a while, ours was higher. The schools rank higher than ours. Consider this. Blacks have a much higher unemployment rate than anything in "socialist" Scandinavia. Perhaps one has to ask this. If socialism was no good for Blacks, then how come Sweden and Norway both have better statistics than Blacks?

The losers in a capitalist like society will support socialism.

Sweden and Norway are already developed with relatively homogenous populations where folks in general pull up their own weight. Not like here where many folks don't go to school, reproduce irresponsibility and don't want to work.

It should also be noted in recent years Sweden has shifted right in terms of economics.

Well, consider this. I believe many Blacks embraced socialism because they were being treated like crap in the USA, and have always been treated like crap in this nation. If Blacks were somehow "the losers", they had alot of help getting to that distinction, namely the way they were treated from day one in this nation.

Norway and Sweden, on the other hand, are their own nations with their own rules, and have had time to make things work out.

communism works perfectly and is the best system on the planet---well, at least on paper, the only problem no country has managed to make it work in real life, all these social scientists fail to take human nature into consideration.the soviet union couldnt figure it out and it failed, china gets it and has to use the free market capitalism to get rich.

Black intellectuals like Colonel West are known Marxist as well. But why isn't blacks and their endorsement of socialism not as publicized?

I believe I can show the decline of the black population once socialism was introduced and sold to the community as a viable solution of their problems. Socialism is very good at getting the support of lower income people, it is how socialism as a system is allowed to be accepted. The issue is that socialism creates a culture of despair, hopelessness, and ignorance. Black Americans aren't the first people to adopt this mindset, and they won't be the last. The type of attitudes that are pervasive amongst the black constituency can be seen many times throughout history. The attitudes amongst blacks in America are not unlike the attitude amongst the lowest class in the USSR. This is the type of culture that socialism promotes and creates.

Now I am not going to bash socialism, as I'm well read in the topic. I'm very much willing to break down and defend my stance against socialism, and why I do think it's consistent with the adoption of counter productive and ignorant cultures.
I read last week that over 50% of black households are on some type of federal assistance. Add to that, and I don't have the figure off hand, but I've read in the past that blacks make up a disproportionately high percentage of government employees (federal, state and local). It's not too hard to figure this out.
