Republican "jeezus"??? You are aware people all over the world believe in Jesus right? And there are no "Republicans there. Do you people ever use your brain??
With respect, the problem there is that Texas "hates" (to use the your word) anything that isn't a reflection of the personal preferences of the majority of Texans. It's become a very deliberate, active assertion of negative regard toward any situation where those personal preferences don't prevail. In my experience, Texans consistently refuse to acknowledge their role as the fundamental part of these problems, compounding the problems.

This is a key point. The right to live in accordance with one's own beliefs and values rightfully is primary within one's own skin, rightfully has very high primacy within one's own family and one's own worship, rightfully progressively loses primacy the further from one's own skin the effect of the beliefs and values extends, and rightfully has practically no primacy when the impact of those beliefs and values would be inflicted on a patron of a public accommodation.

Completely irrelevant example. If Jews choose not to eat pork, that had no negative impact on anyone else. However, if Christians (or Jews, or Muslims, or atheists) refuse service to someone at a place of business because they are gay, that is discrimination. See the difference?
