Many of us noted when Obama sent McCain to Syria that we were headed for war.

If that is the case it's worse than being sucked in! It's just plain ordinary stupidity.

True point. CIA hard knockers been running around training the rebels on and on. Now do they know where the optimum targets are is the question. What are the optimum targets? I mean the goal isn't really regime change just blow a bunch of sheet up it seems. Maybe Halliburton needs to get rid of some ordinance to get the government to purchase new stuff? LOL

Hell you never know. I read your thoughts on the Saudi's in another thread and that is the only thing that makes sense. There is no other reason for the US to go this far without support. Our old OPEC buddies need help. So goes how things break in the ME. Saudi's are the key players in the OPEC cartel and when they need something we provide it.

This pipeline cuts Saudi out of the picture.
Saudi has been having their own problems internally.
Where's the King ?
Prince Bandar has deep connections to the CIA and deep pockets.
Hold the fragile petrodollar over our head and there's nothing we won't do.

Lots of little pieces popping up all around. It's trying to connect all the dots that tells the real story that's hard.

From the article:

Quote:
A divided U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday approved a resolution authorizing the use of military force in Syria by a vote of 10-7, with one senator merely voting "present."

...Two Democrats, Tom Udall and Chris Murphy, joined Republicans Marco Rubio, John Barrasso, James Risch, Ron Johnson and Rand Paul in voting against the measure.
The vote was not a slam dunk.

Quote:
Three Republicans - Bob Corker, the top Republican on the panel, as well as John McCain and Jeff Flake - voted "yes" along with seven Democrats - panel chairman Robert Menendez, Barbara Boxer, Ben Cardin, Jeanne Shaheen, Chris Coons, Dick Durbin and Tim Kaine.

Senator Edward Markey, a Democrat, voted "present."
I notice that this media article goes to great lengths to obscure that it is Democrats voting for war by highlighting the Democrat opposition then highlighting the Republican support, even though more Republicans voted against the resolution. The Senate is controlled by Democrats and Democrats chair all committees. The media has got to stick it to the war-mongering Republicans for dragging peace-loving Obama* (who BTW was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, um, just because) to war.

Yep, those 1,400 dead people could have died from bad Oscar Meyer hot dogs at a barbecue.

Yes it is all about the petrodollar. Syria/Assad gone means Iran is an island too. Saudi and the US were the main players back in the day and are still now. If the Saudi's want Syria/Assad to go the only country left to use as the proxy in the world currency war is........Iran. Plus the only Russian naval base to the med is in Syria. They aren't gonna be too happy about that but in reality what are they gonna do? Not much. What can they do?

The whole problem is if that is the case and US foreign policy, Obama's policy, dictates it then do it and stop hemming and hawing around. Pave the way and let the rebels take over. He is waiting around for a reason. Will the Muslim Brotherhood try and take over Syria? They got rooked outta Egypt.
