I have no problem with boots on the ground as long as they are French, German, Russian, etc., but most of all boots from Muslim majority countries. I firmly believe that the US should bring up the rear this time and stop acting like the world's police dog. Every time we fire a missile there goes another million dollars of the taxpayers dollar we do not have to spend. Most importantly none of the crap is worth the loss of one single American life.

I suggest we form a platoon or other military group made up of only the children and grandchildren of our elected politicians. Train them and equip them well and send them to war. All funding would have to come from all companies/businesses/corporations who have/or support lobbyists. This would not be a road to peace but instead a super highway to peace.

This morning's perusal of articles:

-50 targets isn't enough..the Pentagon will expand to more targets
-launching rockets from our ships isn't enough now so we will also bomb with US aircraft flying over Syria
-Now Assad must be weakened
-Iran is now in the forefront. The US has intelligence saying Iran is giving orders to Iraq to attack our Embassy in Baghdad. Funny because AQ in Iraq (al-Nusra) threatened to attack US interests there 2 days ago.
-Boots on the ground in Jordan to further train the rebels
-All 1200 rebel factions fighting in Syria are our friends and we can selectively arm our friends and bypass the tiny fraction of terrorists in Syria
-US State Dept slowly ordering diplomats to leave countries (Lebanon got the order this morning).
-Putin is getting more international support then Obama with regards to attacking Syria.

The longer we wait the bigger this "statement" becomes.
The Senate resolution says it's U.S. policy to change the momentum on the battlefield by arming 'vetted' opposition forces and to create conditions for a democratic gov't. in Syria. And a bunch of other stuff with zip to do with chemical weapons.

A week ago I didn't think this country was stupid enough to invade Syria; looks like the blueprint for a ground invasion is in motion, and I was wrong.

HA! You know the one thing we cannot fault Joe biden for is this. They have a son that went to Iraq.
It is so rare that the ones who so freely vouge for war have no clue what it is like to have a family member sent to the war zone.

yeah they can visit the troops for a couple days- but then they leave and go back to their comfy mansions and watch the war on Tv.

It's only the ONION but hey; a good idea is still a good idea! I'm still laughing my azz off at the entire wording:

Poll: Majority Of Americans Approve Of Sending Congress To Syria | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

Spit coffee at the keyboard moment comes with last entence:

survey respondent, Major General John Mills retired, when asked for his opinion stated "I think it's an excellent suggestion and sooner rather than later as this war isn't going to last forever"!

BwaaHaHaHa! Oh Gawd! I'm wet.
