I'm also wondering what those 1,000 Chinese marines are supposed to do there.
It would be nice if they went ashore, sought out the Syrian command and control, and blew it up along with the personnel, including the guy at the top.
But I would be astonished if they did anything so practical.

Why would the Chinese side with Al Queda or Muslim Brotherhood terrorists? Seems like a pretty dumb thing to do.
How on Earth do you deploy a number of warships "in secret"??? In this day and age of satellite photography, heat-plume detection, electronic intercepts etc.?
The Brits controlled the seas not too long ago, go look for them now. Cowered in their little island. Obama has seriously degraded our standing in the world. It's a wonder China hasn't forcibly retaken Taiwan already.
That's where China has an advantage. They do things with the long term in mind. We only do things with the next election in mind.
