Nice.
I was speaking in general terms. Yes I realize they work hard but minimum wage shouldn't be a lifestyle in Raleigh or anywhere else. I want them to move up and away from minimum wage so they don't have to be on assistance. The dance group at Brier creek wants to magically raise wages to $13 and hour with no analysis of what impact that would have locally or nationally.

I didn't forget anything.
I mentioned earlier that some quantification of proposals and effects might make for an interesting conversation, and I think that point is borne out by exceptional vagueness in the thread.
I don't mind my tax dollars benefitting society, and don't think that providing support to low wage earners does not benefit society.
I don't mind my tax dollars going to low wage workers, either.

I do mind them going there if there's another way to avoid having these people on public assistance, which is highly demotivational and often demoralizing. How can we expect those people to "pick themselves up by their bootstraps" if they already feel like they're trapped at the bottom of the barrel and embarrassed to buy food with their EBT cards?

And we find ourselves magically transported to CD's version of Mos Eisley, P&OC, well known as a "wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Well, it started local... and it has gotten less and less local.

Yes, Ma'am.

It's just that every time I fall into P&OC, I emerge looking for a PetSmart Dog Dip Day to wash off the cooties.

Because their development was arrested at age 10. Only a child believes he built something "all by himself." They are legion here, given what has happened in the past when someone has pointed this out to them.

"to reinstate employees who had been unfairly fired for daring to try to organize. Purely an opinion.

I don't think it was unfair at all.
