Lawrence Wilkerson was Colin Powell's Chief of Staff when Powell made his famous presentation to the UN about Saddam. He later became a nemesis of W Bush and Dick Cheney. IIRC he once said that if Bush and Cheney were put on trial for war crimes, he'd be pleased as punch to testify against them.

He also become somewhat of a lefty darling, appearing regularly on MSNBC. Google Kos+Wilkerson, and you get over 30,000 results. Here's one example:

Now, lo & behold, it looks like Wilkerson is going to play the same role with regard to Obama and Syria:

Lawrence Wilkerson On Syria Intelligence: 'It Seems Like The Same Thing Again'

Looks like some bedfellows might need to switch beds. LOL!

Not strange at all.
As many liberals oppose armed Syrian intervention as do conservatives. We believe Obama is making the same mistake that Bush #1, Clinton, and Bush #2 made. The 100 year old belief of "Making the world safe for democracy" that began with Woodrow Wilson is bankrupt now, especially in the middle east. Syrians may want democracy, but they don't need us to get it, just as we didn't need them to get ours.

Wilkinson is just being consistent. He saw it all before, and knows a repeat when he sees it.
