Answer the question. You said that you had a problem with anyone carrying outside the home for any reason. In Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, 27 people were killed BEFORE police arrived. I have a gun and I just saw Adam Lanza kill the first child. I'll ask again...
You're in a public place, and a criminal has a gun and is shooting people. What would you suggest those that are about to be shot do to prevent themselves from being murdered?

Okay, but why can't you respect the fact that these things do happen, and people do not want to feel helpless and just want to wait for their turn to die IF something like this were to happen. Why can't you respect the fact that we aren't cowboys looking for a shootout and we would ONLY use our weapons as a last resort when lives are in imminent danger. We aren't the the guys with guns that you should be afraid of. Like anyone else, all we want to do is protect ourselves, loved ones, and possible the public from bad guys when theres are no other options. Why does that make us nuts?
I can answer this question without reading any posts: it is just a control issue. Some people, mainly those who favor a big government, just want to control the lives of others. Because guns are the primary means of self-sufficiency, power-freaks want to control them. It really is that simple.
