And get no jail time.

That's right. This "man of god" has raped at least 4 boys to cure them of their homosexuality.
The judge gave him 17 years in prison, but suspended the sentence for the pastor to get treatment, and serve probation.

No jail time for pastor convicted of raping boys to

He wasn't a "man of God".

And his sentence wasn't justice, either.

Somehow, I have the urge to find him and remove his sexual organs with a butter knife (the kind with serrated edges).

Of course, that's not justice, either.

As one who's served in youth groups for many years and seen the heartbreaking results of abuse and lack of parenting, this one just makes my blood boil.

And for those of us who do not believe in a supreme being, he was simply given a pass.

Surely the parents of those kids should have had the option to speak at his sentencing hearing?

This was a horrible sentence. The sentence likely does more damage than the crime in the big picture and that takes quite of bit of doing.

Hopefully if there are other victims they are willing to come forward and more charges can be brought before a sane judge.

What is it with religious leaders and committing sex crimes with minors???

I mean we never hear about scores of sex scandals involving, say, coal miners and under-aged victims; or restaurant chefs or bus drivers or computer systems analysts ...

Is there some reason why pedophiles seek to become "men of the cloth"???

Anyone trusting their children to be unmonitored alone with religious figures has to be out of their damn mind.

Yes we do. Their occupations generally aren't pointed out. Religious leaders, politicians and teachers make the headlines. For the rest many times it isn't even mentioned what they do.
