p.s. about 10,000 of the lights will stay up all year around, they are LED/RGB lights which will change colors for each holiday, and dance to music, but here is last years display with only 10,000 lights

Nice I've always fashioned myself as a sort of Clark W Griswold, but I think you've got me beat!

On a different note, I was at Hobby Lobby in July, and they had a Christmas section. I enjoy my holidays, but the commercialization of Christmas is starting to water it down for me.

Was in Walmart a few days ago. Checked out a few things thru the garden dept. Asked the clerk what was with all the empty shelves. 'Christmas stuff coming in very soon.'

Hobby Lobby has a Christmas section? I'm going to check them out tomorrow.. haha

btw, last year I had about 6-7 cars parked at any given moment watching my display. This year I'm hoping to jam up the street with traffic.. haha..

If I get desperate I'll offer free hot chocolate just to make people park longer..

Why does this bother people so much? Is it because some feel that the earlier promotions of the holiday diminish it in importance?

The other issue is almost all of the extra parts, need to be ordered from China. I've been waiting 3 weeks for an antenna for my FM transmitter so the lights can dance to the music. Otherwise they just blink off and on and no one understand the pattern.
We have our very own Chevy Chase here from Christmas Vacation

Well it kinda knocks Halloween and Thanksgiving to second rate holidays.

They also have Halloween candy out. Would you buy halloween candy now and hold it for 2 months ?

I would relate it to listening to a couple teenage girls talk in a movie theater. Yeah, something like that.

But, to be fair, they're only meeting the demand of our consumer slave society.

haha.. I told a parent of my sons friend, (she's a sheriff), if I ever go overboard, she has my permission to arrest me for bad art..

Her neighbor fills their yard up with all of those yard crap, and it looks like ****. They actually have a shed just to store Christmas displays..
