I can see how some racist punks would do something like this. But in this case, so far there is no proof that this happened. Anybody can scribble something on a receipt and claim they were victims of racism. Who knows, maybe one of her coworkers was playing a prank on her and came up behind the customer and wrote n..... on the receipt. Apparently the handwriting didn't match the customers so really.. the case is dead.
Like somebody already said, why would the customer pay for an order with cc, and then write the N word on the receipt?
Maybe you should start caring. If your customers are not tipping you "all the time", you might be doing something wrong.
Or maybe you get a lot of jerks. Read the threads here about tipping; many people seem to believe that if the waiter/waitress isn't kissing your feet at a chain restaurant, they "don't deserve" a tip.

I tip very generously when called for. If I'm waiting on my drink, or my order is right, then you'll be lucky to get 10%
so he went to the local tv station to say he wrote nothing "none" in the tip line...So he just proved he didint even tip, that is worse that a racial slur.
A non tipper is a ass.
If the service was bad, let the manager know...did he? of course he didn't. He got called out and now is lying to recoop his name.
Not leaving a tip is not as bad as a racial slur. Waitresses work on a different minimum wage than other non service employees and The ''tip'' is to be extra incentive to ensure good performance. Tips are to be earned and not automatic, if they were, then there would be no incentive to go over and above. I know a waitress who works in a high end restaurant and earns more than 60,000 a year in tips and salary(reported income), She is excellent and will not take a promotion because she cannot earn that much as a manager and there are more headaches with that job.
