And why should gun owners have to leave? You people on the left are the ones who have a problem with the Constitution when it doesn't jive with your aims. Why don't you find another country in which to live. There are all kinds of leftist countries dotting the globe.
Many states do allow silencers and machine guns with purchase of a federal tax stamp and federal background check.
If the concern of "assault" weapons, hi cap mags and machine guns were the cause of violence then it would be easy to look at a map of the US and see the frequencty of murder and violnce centered in those same states. However, that is not the case.
There thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of fully automatic weapons within the USA in households.
Many are hand me downs/inherited from generations, before. The government never knows who has what, unless we tell them.
But the paranoid rubes and hillbillies will be back soon, seems that they multiply too much these days. It's not enough to already be able to own guns, rifles, shotguns. Noooo, we need FULLY AUTOMATIC EVERYTHING, ROCKET LAUNCHERS, HEAT-SEEKING MISSILES, etc...
