If the dollar continues to decline in value against other currencies, we can expect many more foreign visitors in the future, and more questions about our country, both inane and well-informed. I hope we can all learn to put aside our prejudices and partisanship and respond intelligently.
What I'm more afraid of is our own citizens giving them incorrect information!
I'm somewhere between Moth, and Saganista. I've lived abroad and been asked insufferable questions and have experienced my countryfolk ask equally unfathomable questions.
It's a big world grown smaller, but still not a thoroughly educated one.

Clever lassie, indeed. I'll have to remember this one the next time I am asked a like question.

I had a guy come live with me from Prague while he looked for housing. He was fascinated by the hip hop culture and wanted to live in "the hood." Despite me telling him that it was not all partying in the streets like it is in videos, and some very real warnings, he decided to rent an apartment in a tough part of town. I came home the next day to find him back in my apartment after a scary evening.

You ought to pay him a return visit. Prague is a stimulating place. The "Museum of Communism" (located upstaris from a McDonald's! ) is a hoot.
I have had the opportunity to go to Prague and loved it! They do have some interesting things like that: the "Museum of Communism and the "Torture Museum." The McDonalds location is funny.
