“You know, Senator Chuck Hagel, when he was senator, Senator Chuck Hagel, now secretary of defense, and when I was a senator, we opposed the president’s decision to go into Iraq, but we know full well how that evidence was used to persuade all of us that authority ought to be given.” —Secretary of State John F. Kerry, in an interview with MSNBC, Sept. 5, 2013

This is at least the second time since becoming secretary that Kerry has asserted that he opposed the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as a Democratic senator from Massachusetts. The first time the Kerry made this claim, during a student forum in Ethiopia, his statement mysteriously disappeared from the official State Department transcript.
Quote:
For Kerry, the uncomfortable fact remains that he voted to authorize the use of force against Iraq, he believed the intelligence that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and he said there was little choice but to launch an invasion to disarm him. Kerry may have been highly critical of Bush’s diplomatic efforts in advance of the invasion, but that is not the same thing as opposing the war when it started.

It’s time for the secretary to stop making this claim. In trying to make a distinction between his vote to authorize the war and his later dismay at how it turned out, Kerry earns Four Pinocchios.
Aside from the fact that Kerry got 4 Pinnochio's for his lies, it should trouble every single American that our government engages in proactive scrubbing from the official record lies that our Executive Branch officials tell in the name of propping up U.S. policy.

Disgusting and unacceptable.

The truly frightening thing to me about the Obama administration isn't really the administration itself. It's that people support it. Millions of people. You see them all over right here on this forum. You can show them the links to the documented evidence of corruption and dishonesty and they simply don't care. Obama stands in front of a crowd and announces if congress won't act then he will and the people cheer. The President of the United States announces his intention to unilaterally take action in contravention of the peoples' elected legislators, and they cheer him for it. And all the while they maintain that they are morally and intellectually superior.

Wow. Eloquently stated and sadly, all too true.

Lefties would rather be lied to and feel loved than be told the truth and feel miserable.

There have been many, many books written describing such a future.

Wow! Some people are easily frightened. I don`t cheer for any of our foolish military adventures btw but I find it interesting that the GOP for the first time ever is opposed to dropping bombs on a country full of poor dark skinned people.

What makes it even worse is that Obama running for office would say that it is illegal for him to do something or illegal for him to do it without congress...then he just does it unilaterally anyways...

Then his sheep, errr I mean supporters, who were fainting and chanting in unison "YES WE CAN" and "HOPE AND CHANGE" when Obama made these promises - simply look the other way when Obama does it... Democrats never cared about Obama's words, they were merely infatuated with Obama.

Obama is running a corrupt and perhaps the most intellectually dishonest administration that we have ever had.

It's because Obama is giving them 'free' sh*t.

Once the money printing spigot is shut off, they'll emerge full-grown in all their greed and ugliness.

Everyone who isn't part of that scene sees who they are and what's coming.

Follow the boy scout motto.
