Are you willing to burn your Medicare Card? The Tea Party outfit FreedomWorks wants the uninsured to burn a non-existent Obamacare card. But as a loyal Tea Partier are you willing to burn your Medicare Card to support Freedomworks and the Koch brothers and their fight against socialism? Didn't real patriots in 1776 do more than burn Medicare cards?? Isnt it time for the real Tea Party to step up?
I really hope that Obamacare covers stupidity, there seems to be an epidemic on the left.
that speech was made about 2 years after his '08 campaign
so, i repeat, healthcare reform was not a major factor in Obama's election.

Just responding to your own claims in this thread that Obamacare is expensive, le roi:
You're right, I shouldn't have responded to an off-topic comment about Obamacare. I should've limited my comments to Medicare, which is the point of this thread.
I do not have, nor will I ever accept, MediCare/MedicAid. Just as I will never accept, or participant in, the Affordable Health Care Act. I do not require fascist liberal freaks in the federal government dictating the kind of medical care I can or cannot have.
So you would rather have a private company do so? Check.
Or you paying 100% in cash? No insurance. Then I can't fault you're position.
Why would poor people willingly give up the handouts they voted for? This is why democracies have a short lifespan. The people just keep voting more freebies for themselves, or the candidates that promise the most with the least effort. Expect more Obama clones to exact a death grip upon this nation, no matter how many teabags the teabaggers staple to their baseball caps. Expect poor people to continue to play the victim card, regardless of how inadequate an effort they actually put in.
Yeah, I agree. Ever since corporations and rich folk have been buying representatives and reaping the rewards, things have been going down hill.
I've always paid for insurance, except way back in the day when my employee picked up the full cost for me...dependents were an additional fee. That was over 20 years ago though.
Since them we have paid part of the cost while knowing the employer was paying a good chunk of it. They sent us annual statements to show how much in fact. Now I pay individually, COBRA actually, so it's the same coverage I used to get subsidized by employer only now it's all on me and WOAHHHH! It's expensive! Plus an overhead fee! When I get insurance in 2014 I'll be paying as well and it will likely be an Anthem Blue Cross Plan.
Why the hell would I "burn" or give up something I'm paying for or something our society has placed enough importance on to cover (medicare, etc.). We made these decisions, they weren't just thrust upon us. Not everyone is ever going to be in agreement about things but we have a way of doing business here and you either live with that, try to change it, or you live elsewhere.

The same people that whine about Socialism are the same people enjoying the benefits of Socialist Programs, most of us figured out long ago that they are the definition of Hypocrites.
To a degree you paid for it, just like SS, there often comes a time when your paid benefits have been used up and with Medicare you still pay something but not so with SS. Read more.
