Wait, Obamacare is funded? When did they budget that money?

Is this the latest talking point now?

It's called mandatory funding.

But this latest political theater they're performing is an act of pure desperation. They know that once Obamacare is in place and the public begins to like it, they'll be held to account for opposing it so strongly. Their vain hope is to somehow derail it before it gets that far.

Like the president said recently, "When the public starts to like the ACA, the Republicans will no longer call it Obamacare."

Once again, he's ahead of their hyperpartisan silliness.
Yep, and I have a feeling that in a year or so, they will seem as on the ball as this guy.

Hey Jude, if Obamacare is funded like you claimed, then why wont the Democrats stop holding the nation hostage and just sign the Republican spending bill which has EVERYTHING except Obamacare in it..

Again conservative insanity on this issue is there for anyone to see.

conservatives in Congress agree that the government should be funded. Democrats in Congress agree that the government should be funded. President Obama agrees that the government should be funded.

There is no disagreement over the funding of the government.

Yet conservatives seem to perceive that voting to fund the government is a concession to Democrats, it is not.

So again, can someone anyone tell me what is the conservative concession to the Democratic party that they should accept conservatives changing the health care law or anything else one bit?

Pure ignorance. Of course the law is funded. How do you think they plan to implement it in January of 2014 if its implementation depended on funding in 2013? conservatives amaze me with what they don't know.

So if Obamacare is funded, then why wont the Democrats stop holding the nation hostage and sign the spending bill passed by the House, which as EVERYTHING ELSE in it?

Clearly the Senate knows something more than you do, because if its fully funded, they wouldnt need to budget for its expenses, would they?

That's how this country used to be governed.

Nowhere in the Constitution does it say "if you don't get your way through the process we've set up, just conduct economic terrorism until you get your way." Republicans might as well tear up the Constitution and use if for toilet paper; they have now joined the ranks of anarchists and terrorists. Oh, the irony...

"That's how this country used to be governed."

Agreed.

Then politicians started to ignore their constituents more and more counting on participation by low-information voters, a corrupt news media and big campaign spending to provide the path to their reelection.

Over time, the people have become frustrated with representatives who represent everyone except them and consistently choose party and cronies over constituents.

The people have said no to Obamacare over and over, and while their pleas have been disregarded in spectacular fashion, this doesn't mean the people have to accept a government that has them on permanent ignore.

My vote for a Republican Congressional Representative doesn't matter because I live in a district that has been owned by union thugs for generations, but people in other districts have been able to send Republicans to Congress to oppose a very bad law.

When you say these Republicans are no different than anarchists and terrorists, understand that the founders built stops in the legislative process because they didn't want a run-away dictatorship.

"The Senate on Friday blocked a Democratic proposal to pay for the Iraq war but require that troops start coming home. The 53-45 vote was seven votes short of the 60 needed to advance. It came minutes after the Senate rejected a Republican proposal to pay for the Iraq war without strings attached. The Republican measure failed 45-53, 15 short of the number of votes needed to go forward. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the only way to get troops the money was to approve the restrictions outlined by Democrats."

Democrats Refuse To Fund Troops This Year | Sweetness & Light

“On Monday, America will honor our veterans and troops for the sacrifices they’ve made to protect our freedom. Yet today, the last legislative day before Veterans Day, the Majority party is deliberately disrespecting our veterans by refusing to give them the funds and resources they need.”

They're called grants, and they are already in place.

"Many key ACA initiatives are funded through mandatory spending that does not require further Congressional approval. Appendix 1 In total, the ACA included $101.25 billion in mandatory spending from fiscal years 2010 through 2019.ii By the end of fiscal year 2011, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had awarded nearly $3.6 billion in grants under the ACA.iii Most grant programs under the ACA have been funded through mandatory spending."

Well, gee, let me see, genius. The GOP is telling the Democrats they will fund everything else if, and only if, they rescind the mandatory funding that is already in place. But you knew that.
