Why are Americans brainwashed believing how ""great""" capitalism is, and how evil, bad, and horrible social welfare rest of the west are?!
15% of Americans love under poverty! Keep that in your MIND!
Keep feeding corporates.... :@ Keep making them wealthier and wealthier while millions of young children starve to death and cannot afford any health insurance or college education!

Social welfare- programs that are funded with the confiscated dollars of working people.
No doubt you either believe stealing isnt evil if its for your pet cause or you are a beneficiary of other peoples money.
I think capitalism is the best economic system yet created. That being said, capitalism can take many forms. Capitalism that is regulated to prevent monopolies, promotes competition, protects workers, protects investors, and protects the environment is a great thing. The state plays a crucial role in providing social welfare, infrastructure, and regulating commerce, but the state shouldn't run industry.
Care to expand on your assumption? Maybe propose an alternative and share how great it is?
Capitalism has given Americans the opportunity to be and do whatever they want. They are free to fail or succeed on their own merits and not rely on government to pull a card from a hat to tell them what to do and how to live. If you're happy giving up your wealth, donate it. Don't have any wealth, you say? Look at the poorest of the poor, not just in America, and then try to tell me how poor you really are in the grand scheme of things.
You can choose to be a bitter loser for your entire life, or get up off your tail and do something to improve your lot in life. And don't feed me some BS line about how the evil corporate empire is keeping you down. That's a garbage cop-out, and we all know it.
And, Peaceful Forever, do tell how much of your own money you are willing to give up, as a percentage of your income if possible, when you wind up being lumped into the "rich" category.

Just imagine how brainwashed people are who think politicians can run ANYTHING, including how to spend your money for you.
Personally, I think there needs to be more liberty in taxes (bare in mind, I don't fully understand taxes). I think that everyone should be taxed the same percentage (taxing the rich less makes no sense at all) and we should have some say in where those taxes go. In short, if you don't support welfare, you taxes won't go there; but if you do, you can have your taxes go there.
As far as social security goes (by the way, for any republicans out there, if you oppose welfare because it's 'socialism' but not social security, you are the definition of a hypocrite), you should sign up for it. If you sign up, you pay it and then earn it back. If your like me, in a generation paying for the faults of earlier generations, I find it unfair that I'll be paying for a service that is mandatory even though I will not get it. That system of logic is flawed. Social security should be volunteer (that might not be the right word for it) based.
Capitalism is pretty good though. Those who work harder deserve more. However, there is a trend. Those born rich tend to stay rich. This is unfair. Just because they were lucky enough to be born into a family that can afford good schooling doesn't mean that others should suffer.
Socialism is bad in full. There are elements in it that are good (equality for one). As a whole, it seems dangerous.
Realistically, a balance of capitalism and 'socialism' would be the most fair and opportunistic system.
