In other terms, that person is choosing to disturb the peaceful nature of the neighborhood in order to make themselves feel big. So regardless of their right to carry, it's a threatening posture and frankly inconsiderate in the context of a civilized and polite society.
I accept that you live in a safe urban neighborhood, and I'm glad for you and your neighbors. I moved into a safe upper-middle-class neighborhood myself 8 years ago. Except... in the past few years there have been a few home burglaries, and one man in an adjacent neighborhood was shot when he came home early and interrupted a burglary in progress. It's not like these things happen every day, but they do happen. I'm guessing the people who live here all still law-abiding citizens and I'm not aware of any local meth houses, but crooks know how to drive cars and can easily leave the not-safe areas in search of better pickings. So keep on telling yourself that violent crime is "unheard of" in your area and hopefully you'll stay lucky.

Personally, I rarely open carry. Too much drama from people like you. But when I do open carry, it has nothing whatsoever to do with anything you think it does. Probably I'm on my way to or from a shooting range or a hunting trip and was just stopping by Starbucks for a little pick-me-up. Maybe I'm walking down your street to pick up one of your neighbors for the trip. The reason I open-carry instead of conceal in those situations is pure comfort and convenience. An OWB holster is simply more comfortable to wear than an IWB holster.

I really don't think it would be possible for me to care less what you think of me or whether or not you are scared of a law-abiding citizen walking down your street. And I am definitely not trying to make myself feel "big". Actually, as an OWB holster makes my pants fit looser, open carrying makes me feel "small".

I don't fear my neighbors either. But I have to drive through less-than-safe areas several times a week, and some of those people I do fear. And yes, my concealed "wubbie" (if you want to call it that) makes been feel safer in those situations. My 60+ year old mother sometimes leaves work with a bag full of cash, and her area isn't that safe. She also has a carry permit, along with a 6-shot "wubbie" in her purse. So just because you live and work in a location where you think you are protected by the police [also here] don't judge others because they may live in different conditions.

Back to Starbucks, as others have stated it is private property and I respect anyone's decision regarding not allowing weapons on private property. I may disagree with the reasoning, and I may take my business elsewhere, but I respect the decision. A public street/sidewalk, however, is not private property no matter what the local Homeowner's Association informants think.

Let's create a thread though on if gun owners should be a protected class? Start the thread and make your case. It could be an interesting thread.
Yes they can.

Didn't you just accuse others of deflection?

He might be an expert, or he could be an idiot who just bought the rifle and doesn't even know how to use it. I'll tell you what though, if you held an AR-15 like that at the shooting range, they'll scream at you, and then throw you out. Plain and simple. If that rifle was to misfire for any reason, the bullet would hit the floor and then another customer.

Since you don't know what a misfire is you probably don't know much if anything about guns at all.

You are making no sense. I've reported all your stupid posts as off topic. I have no interest in contributing to your ridiculousness. Smart people know it's not a choice. Morons or latent homosexuals with a complex about it believe otherwise. That's my last word to you. Respond if you want with more off topic BS to feed your obsession. It doesn't belong here.
