Lol... you ever see the hoops you have to jump through in NYC? I mentioned one, non refundable $400 application fee for a permit that can be denied based on your driving record.
This gun grabber standard talking point is older than dirt. Name one other law that obstructs law abiding citizens from participating in a perfectly legitimate activity while doing very little or nothing to stop criminals.
Actually, genius, it's not so much a talking point as a LEGITIMATE QUESTION! Respond with an answer...unless you don't have one.
Tell me, if laws are ineffective at stopping criminals, then why have them for anything in the first place? I doubt many on the right have thought that one through, but I'll just put the question out there anyway.

Nonsense. I could easily say NYC's super low murder rate (by US standards) is proof strict gun laws do work.
NYC is #2 on this list for most murders in the republic this year.
Playing the rate game won't work - of course Des Moines for instance could conceivably have a higher murder rate than NYC, because NYC has many, many more people than Des Moines.
Harrier notes for the record that Des Moines is not on the list and that Iowa is a "shall issue" state.
Numbers matter - rates are dubious at best because they are dependent on population size.
Raw numbers = actual murdered people who have families that are grieving and have grieved - and those matter.
Chicago and NYC top the list, are run by liberals, and have strict gun laws - proof that gun control is ineffective.

Raw numbers are dependent on population size also.

Your argument is illogical.
Lets assume that Harrier agrees(he doesn't), just for the sake of argument.
In that case, neither the numbers nor rate subscribers have a logical argument.
We are all just "eliminating" in the wind, here(so to speak).
Harrier maintains that raw numbers are more substantial, because in a moral world, no murder should ever occur.
In cities that have the most(Chicago, NYC) something is wrong.
