Spitting on Their Graves: Democrats Leave Benghazi Hearing Before Testimony From Families of Victims - Katie Pavlich

Spitting on Their Graves: Democrats Leave Benghazi Hearing Before Testimony From Families of Victims

Katie Pavlich
Sep 19, 2013

During the second portion of a House Oversight and Government Reform hearing about Benghazi Thursday on Capitol Hill, the majority of Democrats on the Committee left the room and refused to listen to the testimony of Patricia Smith and Charles Woods. Ms. Smith is the mother of Sean Smith, an information management officer killed in the 9/11 Benghazi attack. Charles Woods is the father of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was also killed.

explain what their testimony has to do with the hearing ? The character of their children is not on trial so what is the point of them being there.

Did someone say we didnt need more security at our bases, embassies and consulates ?

You are absolutely correct about the "money" .... Obama's organization was immediately fund raising on the deaths of Federal workers in the Navy Yard.

As President Obama said, these events are too common. We all stand numb, trying to wrap our minds around another tragedy that breaks our hearts.
Our "hearts" are so broken, but they don't mention the Stand Down Orders that could have possibly saved some of those people. Guns are not allowed in these Federal Facilities. That gave us the Fort Hood Massacre and now the Naval Yard Massacre ..... at least with the Naval Yard, we actually had an expert sniper Team right there that could maybe have helped. They were ordered by the Bureaucracy to Stand Down.

We are ALL responsible for this because we don't stand up and speak out. We are not willing to demand the changes to a stupid system that forces trained Marines to stand guard duty with empty weapons and that allows some anonymous "commander" to order a highly trained Capitol Police SWAT CERT Team to Stand Down while a mad man kills a dozen people. We allow this when we stay silent and accept it. We did the same thing with Fast & Furious, with Fort Hood, with Benghazi. It's our fault because we let them do this to Americans.

There is no truth to the rumor that the Democrats all fled to a neighboring state, checked into motels, and are staying there so that no one can force them to come back and do their jobs.

No Democrat worth his salt would EVER do that.

I'm sorry I had to turn off the hearings before the testimony of the families of the victims. I listened to several hours of it though, and I found many of the Adm's and Amb's answers disturbing. Most disturbing was the slobbering by Dems, apologizing for the "tone" of the committee.

They don't want to hear the truth, they don't want to give these families any peace and MOST of all, they did everything in their power to prevent Hilary Clinton's name (their queen) from being mentioned.

Bravo to Jason Chafetz and Issa for conducting respectful and relentless rounds of questioning.

Never let it be said that either party missed an opportunity to try to score political points off any tragedy. They all remind me of televangalists.

What was the point of this hearing, to draw out emotion or facts. Sure looks like a set up to provoke rather than arrive at answers. They already had their chance to investigate, short of new information there is nothing left to discuss.

Stonewalling is never a valid defense. Is there something wrong with allowing the families of the dead to air their grievances over the government refusing to give them honest answers?

Are you saying that if it was your spouse, parent or son that you wouldn't want more complete answers as to why they are dead?
