It does address the partisan reporting issue. Obviously Slate isn't trying to argue that the Dem's didn't walk out, only that more should have been there of both parties. I will completely agree with that but it doesn't excuse those who were there but left.

Secondly,

that the real-time response was adequate but in vain, given the shoddy organization leading up to September 11, 2012.

How do we address "shoddy organization" unless we have all the facts concerning what happened?
Parading these family members through had nothing to do with finding out any of the facts, and everything to do with Issa exploiting them for political benefit.

Do you think that maybe we should ask them if they feel they were exploited or rather appreciated the opportunity to publicly ask questions they feel are not being answered?

Are you intentionally missing the point? They didn't walk out on "a hearing". They walked out on the victims' families getting a chance to speak.

When Gabby Gifford, one of their own, got shot by a random lunatic at a political appearance and survived they hailed her as a hero, made her a featured speaker, and wanted to name a Navy ship after her. But the surviving family of men who died fighting against a terrorist attack get the chance to testify and they walk out on them.

You can parade Gabby to Congress 19 times over the same issue, and I can guarantee people won't stay for the re-runs. GOP is overdoing it, and they have repeated it so many times, that people see it as 100% political BS. It's time they let it go. Pretty much all Republicans skipped it too, but you do not seem too outraged about that. It seems even GOP has had enough.

I have never seen dead Americans used for political gain to this extent

Having watched the whole hearing, I would point out the Issa was also missing for lengthy periods of the hearing.

The first chance the victims parents had to tell what they know and the dems walk out. We still do not know what happened and the dems walk out on the victims family

When the prez broadcasts that the video was responsible when we all know it wasn',t that is a red, red flag something is up.. aside from Obama being crowned a liar again.

Dems says there is nothing to see, well the victims families apparently disagree. This shows the sacrifice Dems will make to establish an ideology the country does not want.

These families matter not to the dems seeking political dominance. If they don't matter, it is anybodys' guess whose blood will be sacrificed to cleanse the reputation of Obama, Hillary and their annointed ones.

The families join thousands of others who want to understand what happened. No one knows where the video story came from and why the prez and rice flooded the air waves with that lie.

Hillary summed it up best when said, 'what does it matter?" and takes her place next to the famous quote by Pelosi to characterize a political movement that stands on the bodies of friend and foe to achieve a political agenda.

Sandra Fluke testifies for free birth control, and Dems are hanging on every word. But they can't be bothered to listen to the parents whose children died while serving their country and saving their fellow Americans.
