Even if Obama was born in Kenya, he would have still been able to run for president as his mother was a US citizen. This makes the whole birther movement a waste of energy. SMH

Yep! Hillary Clinton and her birther brigade is an absolute farce!
Mark Penn (ClintonStrategy Memo, March 19, 2007: More than anything else, this memo captures the full essence of Mark Penn's campaign strategy--its brilliance and its breathtaking attacks. Penn identified with impressive specificity the very coalition of women and blue-collar workers that Clinton ended up winning a year later. But he also called Obama "unelectable except perhaps against Attila the Hun," and wrote, "I cannot imagine America electing a president during a time of war who is not at his center fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values." Penn proposed targeting Obama's "lack of American roots."

Yes, the whole birther schpeel was a total waste of time, but you're forgettign something: The birther wackos went after Mitt Romney too. I think they are a bunch of equal opportunity nutters.
your quote isn't about Obama not being born in America; its about his history of being born to foreign father and that he spent his younger years abroad.

In my opinion, it made the law clearer, earlier. In other words, eventually this issue was going to come along. Obama just happened to be first. It was unfortunate, if you believe it, that he tried to obfuscate rather than get it cleared up before he ran because given the reason the birthers think he's ineligible is the same reason why he is.
The Congressional Research Office says he's eligible (Cruz).
Government officials didn’t exactly have to scramble for the information amid speculation the firebrand freshman senator was contemplating a presidential run and might be ineligible, considering similar questions about President Obama’s birth prompted the Congressional Research Office to compile a 2009 report to try to resolve the issue. The 14-page report by the non-partisan office’s legislative attorney Jack Maskell essentially states the Constitution sets out three eligibility requirements to be president: one must be at least 35, a resident within the United States for 14 years and a “natural born citizen.†The report states "the weight of scholarly legal and historical opinion appears to support the notion that 'natural born citizen' means one who is entitled under the Constitution or laws of the United States to U.S. citizenship 'at birth' or 'by birth,' including … those born abroad of one citizen parent who has met U.S. residency requirements."

the Daily beast is 100% wrong.
As opposed to a radical leftist/liberal nutjob site where posters create links that go nowhere?
Quote:
On August 21, 2008, Pennsylvania attorney Philip J. Berg, a Democrat and former deputy state attorney general, filed a complaint alleging that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, and was therefore a citizen of Kenya or possibly Indonesia, where he lived as a child.
He alleged that the "Certification of Live Birth" on Obama's website is a forgery.
You've been spanked, get out of the basement and .. Go tell mama!:

lefitst liberal? The site is hardly radical, not even leftist and the owner is far from a liberal nutjob.
That's all you have, an adhom attack? can't address the fact that birthers are actually right wing nutjobs?
Seeing as the article links to the exact thread started on FreeRepublic.com
In March of 2008.
BEFORE PHIL BERG, who had NOTHING to do with Hilary's campaign (HE was a PUMA) (by your own summary, his case came in AUGUST of 2008)
do you have a calendar? Can you tell me when March happens in relation to August?

Not my fault that you believe that march comes before august.
1) the quote from the Dalily Beast isn't a "birther" claim. It was a commentary on how Obama has been influence since he was born to a foreign father, and lived abroad when he was younger. It was not a comment on where he was born or that his birth certificate was fake.
2) Birthers originated on the RIGHT WING NUT JOB site, known as FreeRepublic as demonstrated by the linked thread.

Your silly post made the (false) claim that it all started on the Free Republic!
Then you half heartedly say it started with PUMA a Hillary support site!
I was pointing out where it started and began to get traction (In the courts) with Berg!
you must be getting sore?
