When you Tea Party Republicans are laying in bed in the intensive care unit sucking on Medicare who do you think is going to be hooking up the iv's and cleaning the sheets? The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was sponsored by a Republican.
Republicans held the majority in the Senate, while the Democrats held the House.
It passed both chambers and the President signed it into law.
Much noise was made at the time about getting tough on employers of illegal workers and securing our borders. The can has been kicked ever since and almost 30 years later, here we are. Pew Research estimates that 8 million are illegally employed workers in the U.S.

Let's all be honest with ourselves for a minute. Most of the hardcore liberals today are naive college age kids who don't know anything. They get their "news " from "comedians "like Jon Stewart. Many of their college professors are also super liberal, who push their views onto these kids. It's also considered "cool " to be a liberal and to hats the "old evil evil white and rich conservatives".
Eventually these kids will grow up and learn how the world really works and they will look back at their liberal days as silly and childish.
