The smirking panel seemed slightly nuts...seems even the smallest amount of power corrupts....I would vote these twits out.
As has already been pointed out in this thread, voting them out doesn't necessarily work. We've had the same situation on our town's School Board as a previous poster stated: old School Board members voted out (only 1/2 of them are up for re-election at a time, supposedly for continuity concerns ), new Board members are elected, new Board members subsequently resign for "personal" reasons or whatever, remaining members "appoint" Board members who had been voted out.
"You're not the boss of me" is a phase most people leave behind at around age 13. There was a process for asking questions, and he was out of order.
No, you're being persecuted for being insufferable individuals with illusions of adequacy.
The older liberals amaze me. If you want to talk about the mind of a 13 year old, look at your cheap insult which looks like something that came from someone in middle-school.
Education is a hot button issue for me. Public education in this country is screwed up beyond belief.
Several years ago, I worked to change an incredibly stupid Illinois state law which denied accelerated students eligibility for high school graduation. Not so long ago, Illinois stupidly decided that only high school classes taken in 9th grade and above were to be counted towards high school diploma eligibility requirements. That meant that students who had been radically accelerated in some subject areas (and those kids DO exist, you'd be surprised) would fail to meet graduation requirements because they would run out of high school-level classes before meeting the 3 or 4 year subject requirements.
When complaints about those kids' diploma ineligibility started hitting the ISBE (State Board), the State Board was flabbergasted. They had never even conceived of the idea that such students exist. How pathetic is THAT?
I wonder what would happen if someone stood up during a Glen Beck show and started asking questions and yelling at the audience and exercising their "free speech". My guess is that person would be escorted out or arrested.

Oh, joy... yet another poster completely unable to recognize the difference between a private event and a supposedly "public" meeting in which TAXPAYER-funded services are supposed to be discussed and debated WITH input from the TAXPAYERS.
That's not the officers version of events and on top of that the man in an interview after the incident says he doesn't blame the officer....which if your description of the event is accurate, would be HIGHLY unlikely.
"My" description was from watching a video from that night, not just reading the article.
Now it appears that ALL charges have been dropped, there will be NO per...errr...PROsecution.
I guess the county Attorney decided he just didn't want to open that can of maggots!
Those who want to work their way up the political ladder often start off by getting in the door through the school board. It is a meager entry point position. These people did not look like public servants. There attitude reminded me of a very junior team at the White House...if this is the pool where future politicians will be drawn from - then heaven help us...They already have this attitude that they own the public and of course they have the public by the short hairs....They are the ones who might suggest to a child protection agency that they "suspect" a child is being abused or neglected....All I could smell here was common evil in the making.
The man standing up with the note paper in his hand seemed reasonable. Instead of submitting a written inquiry he figured he would in effect read aloud. I guess they did not like that because they did not want to show their cards through their facial expressions if directly confronted.
I did notice one the man started to speak they quickly got rid of the contemptuous smirks and smiles and played dead pan...The security guy acted like a little henchman and move in to subdue the speaker right on cue.
The audience on the other hand WANTED the man to continue but the majority was over ruled by the smirking tyrants who imagine themselves as all powerful...I am sure if they could they would have ordered the person speaking to be tasered into silence.
The only answer to dealing with these kind of little mafia is simply not to play...If you get this kind of board in the future in your town - boycott...They would look pretty silly sitting their in an empty hall. The people in this particular video should make it a project to never communicate with these geeks in any manner ever. Those citizens with resources could hire a lawyer to deal with them...Let them try to gag a professional mouth piece...it won't be that easy.
You and only you introduced race into this thread.
Have you people ever been to a meeting? There has to be some rules and procedure or everyone would be talking at once in a big free-for-all.
It really doesn't take a genius to figure this out.
You're missing the entire point of his questioning the board. They made the meeting pointless by pre-screening the questions. The parents took the time to join a meeting, only to find that it was rigged.
Do you understand it now?

You approve of silencing others when they have a different opinion?
Interesting Must be a new Democrat
Exactly right! Some of the posters in here seem to have no problem showing their hypocritical (confused and uninformed) views!

Do tell what any of this had to do with race. Do tell.

Indeed they do.
