So far, the only "rate shock" in Texas is that rates are lower than expected according to the following HHS report.

ASPE

In Austin, Texas, with 76 plans to choose from, a 27-year-old would pay $169 per month for the lowest cost mid-tier plan. In Dallas-Fort Worth, with 43 plans to choose from, that price was $217 per month, the report said.

I'm in Texas. The entirety of the bill is a mess. There are other ways to reduce rates that do not involve government.

Interesting that the propagandists say rates are lower... and the companies that have to actually deal with this policy say rates are higher.

Should I believe the talkers or the doers?

You'll believe whatever you need to so you can continue living in the conservative alternative reality.

And how do those numbers compare to what the rates were prior to Obamacare?

Based on which expectations? I expected my rates not to increase per the numerous statements and promises made by the POTUS. That has turned out not to be true, my rates continue to increase at an alarming rate because of Obamacare therefore this Texan expected to maybe save some money (not really, I knew liberals were liars).

Here's the problem folks: It doesn't matter if a plan is $6.90, $69.00, or $169.00, there is no guarantee that a family or indidividual that falls Inside or outside of the parameters of subsidy qualification can STILL afford the insurance! There are millions of American's who make a decent living, but fall outside of the subsidy parameter, and yet have no extra money in their budgets to pay for insurance no matter how "affordable" it is. And for those who receive a subsidy, there is STILL NO GUARANTEE that they can even afford the insurance WITH the subsidy.

The mandate is a family-budget killer for millions!

Get that through your skulls!

Rates are higher for several reasons. Nobody can be denied insurance.; There are no lifetime caps-example one and two million dollar caps; There are no $10,000 catastrophic policies and stop loss is $6250; finally there is some coverage for regular office calls where catastrophic policies had nothing. Some states are offering $5,000 catastrophic policies that are cheaper and essentially don't cover anything. If I was to change anything I would probably put in a $10,000 catastrophic which would eliminate a lot of the complaining that the ACA is more expensive.

HHS, NSA, IRS, DOJ, TSA....... how can you believe any numbers or data these rogue agencies put forth?

In many other places the numbers are reversed and the cost is greater.

To argue cost, which obamacare appears to endorse at its highest levels, is to ignore the quality of care which should be the heart of any healthcare system. This proves obamacare is anything but a healthcare initiative, it is a trojan horse for socialism.

Obama turned the country upside down to accomodate 36 million people, many of whom did not choose to get health insurance and CBO claim 30 million people will be uninsured under obamacare.

This is true of most states. Basically, Republicans have been proven wrong about everything when it comes to the ACA.

Anyone who follows the links in this article in the OP will find ...... nothing but guesswork and a broken link.
No rates have been published, no doctors, no hospitals, no "plan" ... it's all speculation.

It's a propaganda piece of "journalism" - how about we wait and see exactly what the deal is next week?
