Those with pre-existing conditions do not have a choice. They cannot find a private insurer who will tough them.

People who have policies with annual caps can and do run into serious problems if they have a serious diagnosed medical condition.

So much blah-blah on this forum about the lack of personal responsibility. It's usually directed at Welfare Queens. Maybe it's time to broaden the net and include those folk who prefer to roll the dice and impose their uninsured state on " the system".

And there are more people suffering under the policies, laws and regulations of 0bamaCare without even knowing it.

95% of all Americans will be paying less.
This is simply not true. Get your facts straight.

A key difference with ACA is the rates for the healthiest are going up so that older people, people that have more money and assets, get to pay less. The median income for the 25-34 group is about half what it is for the 55-64 group.

Rates are local to the state and are capped at a % of your income.

Healthy people have always subsidized unhealthy people of any age.

Those of us of any age that have been fortunate enough to not have serious medical issues have been subsidizing those who are not so fortunate, all along.

Can you provide a link to a credible source that shows median income for those 55-64 to be twice that of the 25-64 age bracket. I am not doubting you- just looking for independent verification.

Former President Truman was issued the first Medicare Card in 1965. He never paid a dime into Medicare and had the means to pay for his own healthcare. Hundreds of millions followed him. The baby boom paid for it and did so with the understanding that when they aged, they too would get Medicare benefits paid for by the next generation.

Prior to Medicare, it was up to the family to pay for the medical care of their grandparents and parents.

Expand on this, please.

Healthy people currently subsidize unhealthy people.
Safe drivers subsidize reckless drivers.
Sober drivers subsidize drunk drivers.
Insured people subsidize uninsured people.

All insurance is based on a mutualization of risks and as nothing to do with ACA.

People without children subsidize people with children.
People who do not have mortgages subsidize people with mortgages.
People who somehow manage to invest only in winners, subsidize those who invest in losers.

There's a theme here.

If your husband is on Medicare and your insurance covers him, it'd act only as a supplemental payer to his primary payer Medicare. That might be even cheaper than an individual Medigap plan for him.
