"Americans will be able to register to vote when applying for insurance through Obamacare, a White House official told TPM Tuesday, despite reports to the contrary and outcry from congressional Republicans.

Not to worry, a senior administration official told TPM: Voter registration through the health insurance marketplaces will continue as planned. The official said any reports to the contrary were "inaccurate."

Insurance applications filed under the health care reform law are required by law to have a section for voter registration. The 1993 National Voter Registration Act mandates that any government agencies providing government services must also provide people with access to voter registration.

White House: Americans Can Register To Vote When Signing Up For Obamacare

Nice.

First of all, you don't "sign up for Obamacare". Obamacare isn't a health insurance plan, it's a healthcare reform act that Congress passed.

Second of all, what exactly is wrong with people registering to vote when buying health insurance? You can register to vote when you get your driver's license. I guess conservatives oppose people registering to vote. Why? Is the right to vote not one of the rights you folks care about deeply?

You have to make sure that those who want the gravy train of robbing someone else for their insurance costs keep voting for the robbers.

He's not black. He's half white and half black. Get your racist talking points straight please.

This thread will prove once again that conservatives don't believe in a representative government that represents the issues of all citizens.

Why don't conservatives want all eligble Americans to vote?

conservatives believe that many other Americans don't count and therefore shouldn't really vote.

He's black. And I'm not the one who has the problem with that. If you knew any people of mixed-race backgrounds you would know that they often self-identify as black. I believe he even identified himself as black on his census forms. You shouldn't post about things you know nothing about.

No problem with voter registration, provided the individual can verify his or her identity. Insurance fraud is a reality and a problem.

So do you oppose registration while getting a driver's license? Because people who don't drive cars are subsidizing road building to serve people who do...
