Argentina was very proactive in "whitening" their demographics by heavily promoting European immigration and by other means (including genocide). The Dominican Republic tried to do the same under the regime of Trujillo. But the legacy of Afro-Argentines lives on in MANY of it's citizens and in the country's tango culture which was born out of the communities of Afro-Argentines.

My point is this: many "Hispanics" gripe about the "white man" tho Argentina is more "white" than the US or Canada going by race.

Brazil has more "blacks" than the United States. Actually, Brazil has the largest population of people of African descent outside of the continent of Africa. So, comparatively, does that mean the black population of the United States insignificant due to being a smaller percentage of the population?
Are most whites or any other non-Hispanic groups demanding that their ethnic group should be above our immigration laws and rewarded for breaking them? That isn't racist? I rest my case.

Their slaves didn't go anywhere. You can see the descendents of the slaves in the people of Latin America. In some countries like Mexico, the more "pure" blacks are found in coastal regions, those who fled into the mountains tended to mix more into the "mixed" or mestizo populations. The Indians were very susceptible to Old World diseases and came close to dying out especially from small pox until race mixing gave them disease resistance.
"African roots" means nothing....it means absolutely nothing.
