Wow what ignorance. Those football teams get players of all races and all over the nation. SMH.

yes, I do. most people don't really like the cold, but black people really don't like the cold. this isn't groundbreaking information. mississippi is a black state when compared to every other state. especially those lily white states in the northeast and northwest.

of course they do. however, the south is the hotbed for football players. it's not because of white republicans.

You have "Govt Intervention" backwards, and I'll prove it to you, in very simplistic terms.

Contrary to what you write, and I don't think other esteemed liberal commenters here would even dispute that -- US is the least interventionist, and most capitalist economy from the developed countries. In comparison to Western Europe, Japan, Australia, South Korea -- we are still a "free-for-all capitalist pig."

Yet, we have the biggest, most successful, and most productive economy.

So your idea is that -- the more interventionist the Govt, the higher economic growth is? Are you serious, or are just trolling here?

And he is wickedly good at doing this, but not good enough I'm shelling out $17.99 a month to hear it.
I like HBO, and "Real Time" is my favorite show on the network, but not worth $17.99, which I've already said I'm not paying for.

The south is the poorest region of the nation. I wish this weren't true, but sadly it is. Certainly many big cities have higher poverty rates etc and so on, but the big cities are also this nation's economic engines.

You take away the largest two or three cities from any state and all of sudden you have a very poor state.

California's Balanced Budget: Not as Good as It Looks | National Review Online

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/26/us...anted=all&_r=0

It sounds to me that surplus may or may not be. If it is, it sounds like capital gains tax, due to expiring 2012 Bush tax cuts was a one-shot-in-the-arm. Plus Cap-and-Trade one-shot fees.

Even without this surplus realized just yet, libs are talking about how to spend it.

Not surprisingly CA's GDP growth jumped 3.5%, which is the only year California's GDP growth has passed US Average. That's the only time in the last several years.

In the last 3 years, CA's GDP growth has been the 3 worst in the country.

CA's economic share of the country is shrinking. Poverty is one of the highest.

Economic growth: Texas, California and revisions - The Hill's Congress Blog

And we have not even touched on debt.

And we did not even touch on the fact that CA's improving health is also due to conservative policies, like rolling back programs.

And we have not started to discuss yet the long-term effect of tax increases. They have never not have a dampening effect on the economy. Yet, some think CA is exempt from the laws of gravity?

You're joking right?
You know that since the article you linked the surplus was realized, CA actually has passed the next years budget and the state did not go wild with new spending.

Yes, CA's GDP, arguably ground zero for the housing bubble, was severely impacted over the last 5 years. CA's economy is finally recovering with strong growth in particular parts.

Least interventionist doesn't mean lack of intervention or little intervention. The US government is very interventionist and is thus much more like Japan, Australia, Western Europe, etc.

What you write doesn't flow, what you'd want to compare is the economic performance nations with interventionists governments versus the nation's without interventionists governments.

Why not? I think Peyton Manning was a great football player for the University of Tennessee and I think he is white and a republican
