I don't get what's so hard for some people to argue about with what we have available. I'm arguing based on the facts, everyone else here, except us, seem to be making allegations of this and that without any evidence. We're the only levelheaded ones on here, in addition to hammertime. So I guess being levelheaded makes one a "Dem" or a "librul"
It's difficult sometimes for people to see both sides of an incident, like posting (oh the property owners rights were violated by a trespasser! omg)

right now, I see it as he said this and the other guy said that, and oddly enough, only 3 people involved, and no other witnesses, it's always like that, which is why we have courts and judges.
Most likely he took them out as the police approached. You really think he had no shells in the gun when he was out hunting and confronted the trespasser?
He was on his own property, he has every right to walk around with a loaded shotgun in his hands especially if he's hunting with his son.

He was holding his shotgun, meaning there was a chance he could have changed his mind and shot him. Who knows? Nobody knows what goes on in your head. What impression do you think I'm going to convey if I have a concealed weapon and I keep my hand on the trigger? I'm going to create the impression I might use it.

With what? The shotgun was unloaded.

It very much does matter, if you don't want to bump in to anyone holding a shotgun you shouldn't trespass on someone's property during hunting season. He was carrying a shotgun on his own land, perfectly legal. A dirt bike rider shows up, not legal. What do you think this landowner should have done with his shotgun when this trespasser showed up?

So what, the maybe trespassing guy with the bike volunteered cheerfully to go to the house and wait for the police, and only when they got there made up the story about being "escorted" to the house at gunpoint and under threat of his property being destroyed with said gun?
Anything could potentially be true, but the maybe trespasser's story of his "escort" seems likely true to me.
