Well so much for employees able to keep their policies if they are happy with them. Aetna pulled out of the NY exchange and either employers will have to find another alternative for their employees or 79,000 workers will have to go to the exchange to get insurance.
The ACA has also already done damage to the employer subsidized package we now have as not only did our rates go up 28% but we have to use a different mail order pharmacy which will no longer mail 90 day prescriptions. So instead of paying $62.50 for one of my husband's scripts for a 90 day supply. I will now be paying $50 for a 30 day supply and that is only 1 of 4 prescriptions he is now on due to his stroke. I'm going to forego my own prescriptions as we just can't afford it.
TY Mr. Obama from the working people of America!
All this because of lazy leeches. Hell, it's become better to live the life of a leech than to work. They live on it for lifetimes it must be a pretty damn good life.
ACA is the first step to single payer government program. The goal of affordable care for everyone is not going to be met any other way. The ACA can help some (especially those who will not qualify for Medicaid in some states) but overall, the costs are still too high for lower and middle income Americans. It can save people from bankruptcy but everyday health care needs will continue to be neglected by millions who simply can't pay for it. We won't be going back to the way things were today and the only way forward is a Medicare for All type solution. It won't be cheap and we may have to give up some future wars, but it is inevitable now.

Unfortunately, it may not help people from going bankrupt. There are plans out there now with $10,000 deductibles - and yes people take them to be covered - but there are a lot of those people who don't have $10,000 in the bank in case something happens.
Good. I look forward to Republican and bi-partisan recommendations fro improving the legislation as it moves forward.
You already heard them. There was a televised meeting between Obama and Republicans years ago. They included high risk pools for people with pre-existing conditions, tort reform to lower medical costs, and interstate competition between insurance companies. Obama said "I won the election" and ignored all the Republican recommendations. Then he went and made speeches that the Republicans had no solutions and low information voters lapped it up.

When do you think the changes to allow a public option in the exchanges will be introduced by a Republican House member? That'll certainly drive down costs, which is one of their stated primary concerns.
How exactly will this public option drive down costs?

True, but that is better and has a better chance of being negotiated down or written off than $200,000. But you have a good point. Most of my family members are struggling in jobs that don't provide medical coverage. They are praying that Republicans don't kill the ACA. Weak as it may be it puts a little roof over their heads and alleviates some of the fear of advancing age. We are all hoping to get the healthcare milestone of Medicare. Everyone wishes they had Medicare (but nobody wants to be that old!) That should tell you where this is going.
Small problem there, the Repubs have no solutions to anything lately, their only talent is to do Nothing unless it helps their handlers and whining. Not to worry there will be fewer and fewer of them in office over the next few years and that will be that. Hopeful a Party built upon common sense and the Will of the People will emerge and share power along with the Dems.
You mean liberals when you imply repubs. Liberals have no solutions but to tax, tax, tax - what Obamacare is; SCOTUS said so. Libs always like to point fingers and blame - BHO does so all the time when crying about republicans not drinking his pablum. If the conservative faction goes away the USA will be communistic.
Who is going to pay? If it was such a needed priority, why is just now going into effect? And why all the exemptions/waivers?
What about the employeer mandate being pushed out another year?
Been coming for three years now, maybe the Cons should have sat down and hammered out the issues they had before now, gonna happen, like it or not it is coming. What ya gonna do when it works out?

Why should they? You have not provided an answer?
So basically what you are saying is, the dems passed a jacked up bill and expect the repubs to fix the screw up...do you know how ignorant that sounds?
Here, I chucksnee got in an accident and expect casper in dallas to fix my screw up...
You are absolutely right, it has been coming for 3 years, why is it not ready, and why are so many exemptions/waivers been given?
If it works great, but we will never know if people keep getting exempt...now will we....
Now will answer questions instead of deflecting?
