My understanding is the police officer was involved in an undercover operation that did not have anything to do with the bikers, and at the time he was riding with the bikers, he was off-duty.

I'm guessing the NYPD can't reveal his name or show his photo to the media because it might blow any ongoing undercover operation he is currently involved in.

That police officer should simply have called 911 as soon as the trouble began, and then not participated in the harassment.

There was no reason for him to break the rear window of the SUV. That alone should get him fired. He was terrorizing the family with his actions.

Here! He was an undercover detective. It makes no difference whether he was off-duty or working...or if he was working, whether he was working undercover. The dumb-ass SOB attacked the occupants of the SUV. Get it!

(CBS News) An NYPD undercover detective has now been arrested in connection with an attack on a family in an SUV by a group of motorcyclists, reports CBS News' John Miller.

I hope they throw the book at him.

Regular law or the special law for cops? His fellow cops and the union have already begun with the justifications and coverrup.

I expect that he will get the same punishment that other cops receive when they break the law and attack or murder someone. A long paid vacation with a promotion to desk duty upon return to work.

They released his name to the press:

Detective Arrested in Biker Case - WSJ.com

Quote:
An undercover New York Police Department detective was arrested Tuesday for his alleged connection to the assault of a Credit Suisse vice president after the victim was chased by motorcyclists through Manhattan, law-enforcement officials said.
Det. Wojciech Braszczok, 32 years old, was charged by police with riot and criminal mischief. He was waiting to be arraigned in court Tuesday evening.
Mr. Braszczok was allegedly off-duty and among the bikers seen on a video pounding on a Range Rover containing victim Alexian Lien, 33, his wife, and his 2-year-old daughter, according to a law-enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

What possible excuse for a cop to participate in an attack that included stabbing the SUV driver Alexien, and breaking in the window where the 2-year-old girl sat? No possible explanation other than this cop was dirty. Good for NYPD for arresting him, but they also need to investigate why the chase went on so long with no clean cops showing up to intervene.

Every single person charged in this assault should be given 20 year terms to set an example for future thugs, you get caught you risk the next 20 years of your life behind bars. Charge as many people as possible. Get thugs to rat out other thugs. This is the only time thanks to viral videos the city has a chance to crack down on this type of criminal behavior, set an example so bikers think twice about participating in this. Kick the "off-duty/undercover" cops off the force and give them 20 years too and make a damn good example of them for other cops. Next time have real undercover cops infiltrate these events with biker cams and crack down more on these criminals endangering people going about their normal lives until this aggressive behavior goes away.

NYPD Detective Wojciech Braszczok deserves a royal beating to within a tiny fraction of his pathetic, scumbag life. If he doesn't get beaten to a pulp on the streets, I hope he gets it in prison...and often.
