I'm an outside observer, (Canadian) and my opinion will mean nothing to you, but the way I see it is that this is nothing but extortion by the republicans and if they succeed the loser will be the American people. Your uncompromising two party system is absolutely screwed up.

I agree. After all this, they will still fold because everybody outside the echo chamber knows what they are doing. Since they are getting exposed, a clean CR will be voted ON and passed in the house of Representatives.

This will be just another waste of time and money by the tea party.

Now the debt limit is the one which they may bring down all of us...I think they are crazy enough.

The electoral mandate is for the full implementation of the affordable care act... the repubs lost their shot at defunding obamacare when they lost the election. Now they've decided to be sore losers and hold the entire country for ransom... luckily the American electorate is starting to take notice.

Why do you think that when the opposite is true? The Democrats are refusing to allow the House to do its job. The responsible party that is doing what most Americans want are the Republicans. The Democrats are trying to say it cannot be changed but that is not how our government works. When you find out something will not work we vote to change it. Republicans have done NOTHING wrong. Much corruption and acts not allowed by our constitution have been done by this administration. Special treatment that our constitution does not allow has been given to unions and large businesses but the people that are the backbone of our nation are being stomped on. I am very angry about this corruption and many other honest Americans are too.

Yes, a rigged poll from a leftwing organization is "reality".

Most Americans see it the same way. Only 13% support the GOP shutting down the government if their demands are not met.

This is nuts.....How can something that has not even been implemented yet be found not to work?
