House, Senate parry on 'Obamacare' as shutdown imminent

Government services affected by shutdown -
National Parks, Tax Returns, Tax Audits, WIC Program, E-Verify, Health, Gun Permits, Military Pay, Passports, Work Safety.

Government services not affected by shutdown (this should be the "important stuff" list) -
Homeland Security, Mail, Social Security, Air Travel, Prisons, VA Mortgages, Presidents Salary(really?), Congressional Salary(lmfao.), Food Stamps ( ), Food Inspection.

Should switch Military pay, Work Saftey and Health for President Salary, Congressional Salary and Food stamps.
Those poor prospective new gun huggers will have to wait, the NRA will be mad for sure.

Yet other polls show the majority not in favor of Obamacare.

Kind of like tax or penalty.

Whatever is convenient that day it seems.

No government shutdown has been a real government shutdown. As long as the old geezers get their SS checks, their Medicare, their scooters and other assorted free stuff IT ISN't a REAL government shutdown

Active duty troops get paid cause God forbid we can't bomb bother countries, but disabled vets won't get their disability pensions. Nothing like maimed war vets on the street to make a few Congressmen feel manly.

And it's all for naught cause Obamacare is on along with Medicare, and Medicaid.

Please provide sources/links/attribution to substantiate those 17 government shut downs.

I don't mind being called a geezer, but I do mind the suggestion that Social Security and Medicare is given free. I have worked since I was 15 and have paid into both programs (involuntarily) all of my working life. Paid. It is not free. Not free.

You know this is going to be yet another excuse for Issa's comittee not to get the requested IRS documents and Benghazi documents.

I think they should withhold funding for all branches of government who have not complied with Issa's requests for documents and witnesses.

Really? LOL!

That's like the alcoholic blaming other people for his drinking binges. OR the cheating husband who sleeps around because his wife made him do it. Absurd.

The Democrats DO NOT control the House of Representatives which is the branch of govt that controls the purse strings. The Republicans do. They're using the shutdown as leverage.
