Know what? That my dad's taxes were raised or that yours weren't? Taxes were raised on people making more than $400K and medicare taxes were raised on investment income for people making more than $200K.

Each person in the system pays less because there are MORE people in the system.
Some people paid zero before. Most of those will pay more (except for those that actually needed care but didn't have insurance, they will pay less). But for the vast majority who already were in the system, their costs will be lowered.
This is why this was originally a conservative plan. Personal responsibility is a big part of it. The free riders need to chip in.
So in fact the affordable care act only makes it affordable for those that don't have insurance and those with already exorbitant insurance rates can expect to pay more potentially putting them in the position of needing help to pay for it?
It hurts the working poor the most people that make to much to get government help .
