So the Republicans "sieg heiling" to Ted Cruz are throwing good Republicans under the bus. "Defund" or "Delay" is not possible--you could repeal EVERY PART of it if you had the votes, or you can move forward, but we cannot simply stop where we are at. Not responsible, idiotic, simple-minded.

Does the ACA suck? Oh, yeah. So let's fix it.
Why won't you be able to continue to buy insurance in the individual insurance market as of Jan 1st? That option hasn't gone away.

Right now the vets are the lead story, but the evening newscast will be all about Obama being willing to sit down with the enemy. There will be plenty of flattering shots of the president, both Reid and Pelosi will be interviewed on national news and a quick clip of Boehner filmed from the least flattering angle possible.

In the meantime, the MSM will keep up a steady and unrelenting flow of bad news designed to influence public opinion. I watched Cablevision's local newscast in the NYC area interviewing people furloughed by the government, with the newspeople speaking to them in the same breathy sympathetic tones they interviewed Hurricane Sandy survivors. They kept cutting to pictures of Ted Cruz saying "It's....this man who's responsible for the delay." The newscast plays in every waiting room in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties, and if you had no idea what was going on you would conclude Ted Cruz was responsible for every evil in the world.

And this is what the Republicans better be ready for....death by a thousand cuts rather than one big whomping story.
The vets are about as relevant to the discussion as Benghazi is. It's over! Yesterday's news. The only ones talking about either are the right wing echo chambers you all live in.

It was until yesterday. Have you ever been there? It is open air, like looking at a statue or a cemetery, and there is nothing for workers to do there.

I just love how they closed their webpages. This is petty crap and it is stuff that is being done simply to be annoying.

World War II Memorial - Washington DC | OnBoard Washington DC Tours

Here's some operating hours for the memorial that are from a DC tour group. If you do an internet search on any of the National Park Service sites (Gettysburg, for example) you will see that they are often closed on Christmas, Christmas Eve, and/or Thanksgiving. Each NPS site chooses what it is going to abide by. So the memorial is closed on Christmas Day because it is totally unmanned at that point, versus the low-level nighttime surveillance they have, and is barricaded. During a shutdown, the same thing happens because those that perform the evening security are not on the job.

Uh-huh.

Like this right wing echo chamber - World War II Veterans Cross Memorial Barricades Despite Shutdown - ABC News

And this one - Visiting veterans storm closed war memorials - The Washington Post

And this one on HuffPo - Badass WWII Veterans Storm Memorial On National Mall, Defy Government Shutdown Closure

And this one - WWII vets bypass shutdown blockades to see memorial - CBS News

Sticking your head in the sand won't make them go away.

Default Obama and Democrats reject Republican bills to separately fund Gov't

Obama decries the denial of NIH service to children with cancer while He and Democrats reject separate bills to fund the NIH and other services being shut down by the White House. Obama issues an edict from the White House that he will veto any separate bills to fund Gov't services presented by the Republicans. These are not the acts of a man who wants compromise and is concerned about those who are adversely affected by the Gov't shutdown. These are the actions of a political gamester who cares not one whit for the cancer children or any other groups affected by the funding shutdown.

Maybe he should ask Putin how to fix it so his opponents just go away.

Of course he and the Democrats rejected separate bills. To accept a separate bill would cause them to forfeit the lame rhetoric of how the GOP hates children unless they pass a bill that completely favors the Dems position. It's the same reason the GOP intentionally passed a bill they knew the Dems would never sign on to.
This is a very old tactic. Why do you think a bill to fund something no american would backis always attached to a must pass bill.

I ask all Obama supporters, can you show me one time the memorials were barricaded during a government shut down during any of the past 30 years? If you can show it was done before then there's nothing to argue over. If it's never been done before, then why are they doing this now except for political reasons.
