Being forced to pay for the indiscretions of others is bad .. I'm not responsible for you, nor you I .. At last glance, I believe that was called being an American ..
Sorry, no. The simple truth is that US healthcare was overpriced and underperforming, and getting worse year by year, long before Obama took office. Millions of people (such as myself) were locked out of the individual market due to "pre-existing conditions" ( in my case, inheriting my father's high blood pressure), and thus unable to reasonably work for themselves.
Under Obamacare, total costs have already decelerated, and folks like me will soon be able to get reasonable health care. And in any event, the entire idea of insurance is that individuals pool resources, so that any member can draw upon that pool if needed. Using it for routine care is flawed, but since few people want the obvious alternative of single-payer, and basic services are prohibitively expensive, it's the only option left.
Gee, all the millions of people who were previously unable to obtain or unable to afford proper health care insurance don't seem to dislike the Affordable Care Act at all. It seems pretty popular with those Americans.
Sure it does, until they realize how much it costs .. How many of these people happen to have 4k to 6k just laying around for a deductible .. heh .. they couldn't afford to "buy" healthcare insurance already, so why would they just happen to have all of that money for a deductible laying around?

Nobody does, but family kicks in. A high deductible makes good sense if you're young and healthy. If you're 50 or older, and have some issues, a low deductible with higher premium may be a better option.
So far, depending on the area, I see policies selling for 100 a month for 1000 deductable and 20% co-pay. This pretty much dovetails Medicare with my 99.00 and change monthly payment and 20% co-pay.
We have had to shutdown the government because we don't have enough money to run it.
House thinks it is a good idea to cut costs.
Senate thinks it is a good idea to add more bills. And is calling the House and its members really hateful, ugly names because they see reality and want to work on the problem.
President and senate are pretending there is no problem except the House will not agree to their overspending.
Is it time for a divorce or is it time for the senate and president to have a reality check?
Sometimes I do my most logical thinking in the middle of the night.
are you normally that callous (either that or blindly ideological) to think cancer or a drunk driving into your car causing you injuries that require health care is the end result of your indiscretions?

I don't mind paying insurance if I don't need it now so you have affordable health insurance in your time of need, at last glance, I believe that was being called a human ...
