On the other hand, I can think of legislation brought forth and fought for by the Democrats that is for the benefit of the average American and I can name Democratic representatives that are true Statesman, whereas I cannot name any from the right side of the aisle.

IMO...there is no comparison as to the difference between the two parties concerning which group of people has a superior moral compass and more fair and just sense of humanity. The right wing loses hands-down. No freakin' contest.
Whoa there. We have some level of agreement on current events, but an economic system that rewards people (generally) in proportion to their value to the rest of society is on pretty high moral ground. The grocer cannot make more money without helping more people feed their families.

On the other hand, "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" has in actual practice starved or murdered millions.

I'll agree with you, some basic level of health care ought to be provided to every American, and we ought to make sure each child has the opportunity to learn to read, write and figure...but do not be dumping on the source of American prosperity: the freedom of each person to unlock their own potential, mostly for their own benefit.

That didn't stop the GOP trying to do both.

As a consequence public anger is directed more at the GOP than either the Democrats in general or Obama in particular - poll after poll has shown that.

Ken

also 75% didnt want obama care to begin with

Exactly so. Those who are students of history know that.

Those who just want something for nothing have absolutely NO clue, and just stick their hands out demanding ever more.

Default Another sign of the police state

'Gestapo' tactics meet senior citizens at Yellowstone » Local News » NewburyportNews.com, Newburyport, MA

The government now thinks it is the master, and not the servant. It is shameful that the publics land is being used as a political tool.

The government is the ones that pays the police. Should you not pay taxes, they (the IRS) will seize it by force anyway.
Only way to stop it is to vote them out.

WRONG!
Disapproval of Obamacare has NEVER approached 75% - NEVER - and the poll AVERAGE "disapprove" value has never exceeded 55% (and many of those 55% disapprove of Obamacare because the WANT SINGLE PAYER).

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Public Approval of Health Care Law

Not at the cost of shutting down the government.
The GOP picked the wrong strategy for this one - and they'll pay the price.
Gotta say, I LOVE IT!
The GOP (and the Tea Party in particular) are in the process of committing political suicide. When all is said and done Cruz will be "persona non grata" even amoung his own party.

You guys & gals do realize, only 17% of the federal government is actually shutdown. 17% of non-essential labor.

Get this... There are more people manning the helm to keep people out of federal marked places, than they had when they were open to the people of this nation. That is all that needs to be said, to see how ironic this is.
