If Americans cared at all then you'd see different politicians being sent to D.C.

As it is the same folks are awarded again and again with reelections.

So...government "waste" is not an issue Americans care about.

Whatever happened in the wake of this little-covered scandal? AFAIK, the head of the agency did resign, but continued to receive his pensions from previous union positions after ripping off taxpayers. In the end, nobody was held accountable.

Employees at FMCS who had billed hundreds of thousands of dollars to taxpayers — Funkhouser spent some $30,000 on picture frames mostly purchased at a jewelry store — appeared to get off scot-free merely by retiring.
Business as usual.

Compared to buying multi million dollar drones (Global Hawk) that do not work very well and equally inept (F-35) fighter planes at 30+ million dollars each the offense by this minuscule agency is too small to worry about. However now that someone noticed, the agency and its employees should be disciplined.

We really need to replace the military as our main form of corporate welfare. We should spend the money supporting our construction companies as they rebuild our civil works.
