Health insurance =/= health care

This Obamacare thing is a mess.

Quote:
Lexington, Kentucky (CNN) -- Obamacare is expected to increase patient demand for medical services. Combine that with a worsening shortage of doctors, and next year you may have to wait a little longer to get a doctor's appointment. And the crowded emergency room may become even more so.
There are approximately 48 million uninsured people in the United States. When the mandatory insurance rules of Obamacare kick in next year, and a couple dozen states expand who is eligible for Medicaid, you can bet more people are going to want to use their health benefits.
In fact, so many people were anxious to get access to health insurance -- many for the first time -- when the insurance marketplaces opened Tuesday, more than a dozen of the websites experienced technical glitches.

When Im not sick, I usually dont make doctors visits.

I thought that out of pocket co-pays were going to be so high that folks would not be able to go to the doctor?

which is it, go everyday to the doctor or not at all because of high co-pays?

I wish you all would stick to one story.

So let me get this straight:

There are millions of people in the United States who have no medical insurance and no way to afford to obtain health care.

Many of those millions of people need health care, but their health care needs are not met because they can't afford to go to the doctor.

Now that they will be able to obtain health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, more of those millions of people who need to go to the doctor will be able to go to the doctor.

And you think this is a bad thing.

The signs of a predicted shortage of doctors are already there. They've begun to transition into other, non-patient-care fields.

If you can't afford health care without insurance, how can you get health care then?

I know when I have a boo-boo. I see a PA or Nurse practitioner. I like both. I see the boss when something serious is going down.

Please provide some documentation, and not some "fluff" story about an individual doctor.

The ACA might cause trains to collide, planes to crash, boats to sink and spontaneous projectile vomiting for all Teapublicans.

Leeches will end up getting 1 appointment with a doctor. After they don't pay their deductible and copay, they'll be back sitting in the ER.

Sick people may get treatment. Republicans recoil in horror.
