Congressman Alan Grayson will deliver this petition to Speaker John Boehner's office before the deadline to raise the debt ceiling. Add your name, and help us end the lunacy.

"Right now, Congress is debating whether the government should shut down, and whether we should default on our national debt. This is lunacy. Congress should focus on solving problems instead of causing them. Representative Alan Grayson has introduced a two-page bill that would fund the government at current levels and raise the debt ceiling for a year. This bill is simple, timely, and just what we need. End the Lunacy."

Well I signed it - but it wasn't exactly what they want to hear. I'm sure my support won't go to Speaker Boehner.
Dear Speaker John Boehner,
Hold your ground until my registered party, the Democrats, start negotiating and open their eyes to the fact that the majority of Americans are not in favor of Obamacare. We elected them and they seem to have forgotten that. By further putting the majority of the costs due to the President's waivers, on the middle class, they continue to lower our standard of living.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

There is hereby appropriated for fiscal year 2014—
(1) for each project or activity for which budget authority was provided in the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013 (Public 4 Law 113–6), an amount equal to the budget authority provided in such Act, as reduced pursuant to the Presidential sequestration order dated March 1, 2013, to remain available for a comparable period of availability; and
(2) for entitlements and other mandatory payments whose budget authority was provided in appropriations Acts for fiscal year 2013, and for activities under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, such amounts as may be necessary to maintain program levels under current law.
SEC. 3. NONAPPLICABILITY OF DEBT CEILING THROUGH CALENDAR YEAR 2014. Section 3101(b) of title 31, United States Code, shall not apply for the period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act and ending on December 31, 2014.
What's in the underlined portions?
Also, the last section - does that mean there is no debt ceiling until the end of next year? You have got to be kidding me.

That bill does not say to raise the debt ceiling... it says the debt ceiling will not be applicable. That is two totally different things.
This is how politicians operate. Put a claim on the front page and hope people do not figure out the details.
Right.....because a poll of 1,976 people is such a large sample size.
"When asked what their favorite vodka was, 2,000 bourbon drinkers said, "um.....Russian?"
