This is so embarrassing. Rand Paul sounds like a 14 year old trying to win a high school debate not a senator really trying to prevent a default and get the government opened. MCConnell sounds like the Donkey's butt he always sounds like.

For those who can't or won't open the video, here's a transcript of the conversation, emphasis added:
Quote:
"I just did CNN and I just go over and over again 'We're willing to compromise. We're willing to negotiate.' I think... I don't think they poll tested we won't negotiate. I think it's awful for [Democrats] to say that over and over again," Paul said.

"Yeah, I do too and I, and I just came back from that two hour meeting with them and that, and that was basically the same view privately as it was publicly," McConnell agreed.

Paul added, "I think if we keep saying, 'We wanted to defund it. We fought for that and that we're willing to compromise on this', I think they can't, we're gonna, I think... well, I know we don't want to be here, but we're gonna win this, I think."
Which is, of course, the whole problem. They're not trying to solve a huge problem, they're trying to WIN!! At any cost!

I think they should stick to their guns too. They have been willing to fund the entire government from the start, and simply want to negotiate on two small parts of the ACA.

the govt should have completely shut down ALL agencies and all personell- locked ALL doors- I bet then this be long over,-- now some work- some don't --- they calling the emergency teams for Karen-- with out pay mind you-- I'd tell all of them to go---- but I cant. As it was mentioned, ALL bills can come before the floor at any time after they are passed to be reviewed and changed, ammended etc it is a NORMAL day at the house and senate to that that with hundreds of bills or laws. THERE was NOOOO reason not to pass a clean budget and hurt people, their own employees. Ss that NOT what we fight about in foreign wars? govt hurting their people...and deal with bamacare on the floor like any other BILL... idots. but they will have to pay for those they hurt with their selfish- self serving agendas,, God sees all.

Guess you missed the I'm all wired up comment. Guess what folks they knew it would be recorded even if they say different. LOL

It's amazing how loud the Democrats are screaming now that many of their own tactics are being used on them.

Guerilla warfare 101.

Oh and by the way OP this thread is about to be absorbed by the collective.
