If it had to happen, the timing for the Congressional Republican (TParty) led shutdown couldn't have been better for Democrats.... from the standpoint that it took place just as Obamacare was becoming effective. It was free publicity for Obamacare and made millions of people who may not have otherwise been aware of the start date and other related details that it was indeed open for business. And now the first few days of Obamacare have seen way more participation in the system than anyone previously anticipated.

This is the last thing the T Party proponents wanting to shut the system down could have wanted or anticipated. But the fact is that, by their actions, they raised awareness about Obamacare and provided a lot of free advertising for it.

Correct, but than again, considering the TP thrives in rural America, and rural Americans are vastly undereducated vs mainstream America, the TP stupidity on this issue was something we should have anticipated.

No, its a new law requiring government spending... to have a start at the beginning of a new fiscal year is common sense.

I think the republicans are unknowingly shooting themselves in the foot.

yes that is true, but note the timing of both the government shut down, and the fact that obamacare started on oct 1 the year before an election cycle. why didnt this happen last year? or next year?

Of course, everything is a democrat conspiracy.

The shutdown.

Losing one part of a pair of socks.

The rain right after you wash your car.

Getting coupons in the mail for something you bought the day before.

The only thing to do is wrap yourself in a tin foil bodysuit and hide.

Yes, they are playing 11 dimensional chess and have been micro-managing these efforts for years now. Ted Cruz is really a plant.

The only thing the shutdown has down is create a near news blackout about what a hard time people are having getting online, then worse, once they do, the sticker shock as they realize the Democrats lied through their teeth about the cost of Obamacare.

There's growing anger out there folks, and it's not at the Republicans.

Good luck in 2014.
