This thread is for people to share their stories on how they have been negatively affected by the government being open and doing what they do.
This one time the government made a law saying that banks couldn't allow transfers to online poker sites. They literally took away thousands of American's jobs.
If you don't care because you never play(ed) poker online or would even think about it, you should worry. Your job could be next.
The auto workers could've lost a lot more jobs if they weren't bailed out. The realtors could've struggled a lot more if they didn't pass the 8k tax credit and bail out fannie and freddie. The truckers could still be making good money if they didn't increase fines and regulations and gas prices were actually lowered after going to the war in the middle east like they said they would. The mom and pop shops could still be in business if the government didn't give tax credits to walmart/walgreens/cvs to hire low income people to keep wages and prices low. The green energy companies could still be in business if it wasn't a get rich quick scheme to provide federal funding to favored parties and if they actually tried to be productive and competitive.
How has government kept you down or threw you down?
