No, and this is why...

135 million federal income tax returns are filed. Of those, only 71.5 million pay any federal income tax whatsoever. Our country's contributors are a small minority compared to the takers. There's no way the contributors can outvote our nation's takers.

The actual numbers:

And we know from IRS reports that the top 5% of filers, roughly 7 million, are subsidizing over 300 million people to a very significant extent:

The latest ACTUAL average effective federal income tax rates by income group, published by the IRS:

Top 0.1%: 22.84%
Top 1%: 23.39%
Top 5%: 20.64%

And then a HUGE effective tax rate drop-off below the top 5%...
Top 5-10%: 11.98%
Top 10-25%: 8.70%
Top 25-50%: 6.01% (middle class)
Bottom 50%: 2.37%
Summary of Latest Federal Income Tax Data

To recap: only 7 million people are largely subsidizing over 300 million other people in the U.S.

Currently, there are 128 million Americans that are on the government dole in some form or fashion. There are 160 million Americans working.

We all know that the 'Democrat' Party isn't based on good ideas, reason or love of country, but on empty promises, handouts and victimization.

But eventually, the ratio of workers to recipients of government money will hit 1:1. That's not sustainable. Will the Democrat's base turn on them when there is no money left to hand out?
The takers reproduce exponentially (and why not? The more kids you have the more $ you make), and every new generation needs Medicaid, section 8, Lifeline, Pell grants, food stamps etc. essentially the Dems will never run out of new voters.

As for when you hit a 1:1 ratio of producer to taker, the producer class just joins the taker class when it becomes self-evident it is economically feasible to do so; like when your taxes reach the point of "why bother"?

At that point you get Greece.

They can keep going until all the money is gone. Of course, they need to "feed" their dependent constituents, who are now in the majority in the US. What can they do?

1. raise taxes on the productive
2. VAT tax
3. increase capital gains taxes
4. "wealth tax"
5. confiscate assets in retirement plans and replace the value with T-bills
6. eliminate medicare and social security coverage to "the rich" (i.e.- everyone with a job)
7. raising property taxes to assure default and government confiscation of private property

As long as the government dependents are in control of the government, they can demand whatever they want from the nation. Rest assured, issues of private property and compulsory labor are of little concern to the left, as they have an agenda in mind which does not necessarily coincide with the principles of liberty set forth in the Constitution. Ask any liberal here- they literally think it is "thier right" and priveledge to be able to demand and confiscate from others anything they damn well please.

Lots of people on government support have jobs. So the ratio doesn't exactly mean much.

Mostly those that are getting something for nothing, which is EXACTLY what Democrats depend on for their political power and the Democrat politicians depend on for their elite status:

One of these days, some of you will realize that it's in the Democrats' best interest to keep as many Americans as poor as possible. The poor and low-income are the Democrats' largest voter base.
